I worked on garage doors all over San Diego for other companies: springs, openers, off-track doors, full installs. I learned what good work looks like and, honestly, what the sales-first version looks like too.
After 10+ years working for other garage door companies, I started my own so I could give people fair prices and straight answers. I passed the C-61/D28 exam, got my license in 2025 and opened Onyx Garage Door Solutions out of Normal Heights. One truck, stocked. Me on every job.

I look at the whole door, not just the loud part: springs, cables, drums, rollers, hinges, track and the opener.

I show you what broke and why, then give you the price before I touch anything. Say no and I pack up. No trip fee, no pressure.

Repair
The right part from the truck. I balance the door, run it through full cycles, reset the opener and lube the moving parts before I leave.
