Close to home, quick to get there
Central San Diego is where I do most of my garage door repair, because I'm right in the middle of it. Call (619) 930-7869 and I'll call you back within the hour; if it's a morning call, I can usually be there the same day.
Much of the area grew up along the streetcar lines between the 1880s and the 1930s. University Heights dates to 1888, Normal Heights and South Park to 1906, Kensington to 1910, and Golden Hill still has homes from before 1900. Many of those houses have detached garages off an alley, sized for cars a lot smaller than today's, often with wood doors and tight headroom.
Farther east it changes. Allied Gardens went up in 1955 and San Carlos followed, with single-family homes and attached two-car garages that are now on their second or third door and opener. Different houses, different parts, and I carry both.

Central San Diego questions
How fast can you get to me in Central San Diego?
5 to 20 minutes from Normal Heights, depending on the neighborhood. Same-day is normal if you call in the morning.
My garage is detached and opens onto an alley. Can you work on it?
Yes, that's a lot of what I do here. I bring low-headroom hardware and carry the parts in if the alley is tight.
Do you fix old one-piece wood doors?
Yes. I'll tell you honestly whether repairing it makes sense, or whether a new Clopay or First UDT door is the better call.
Do you charge a trip fee in the city?
No. Free estimate and no trip fee anywhere I work.
Which neighborhoods do you cover?
The ten listed above have their own pages. If you're between them, call and I'll tell you how soon I can come.
Faster by phone. This works too.
Tell me what's going on and I'll call you back with what I think it is. Free estimate, no trip fee.
